How does the slow juicer work?
Our slow juicer works with a very basic system composed of a screw and a filter: thanks to its powerful engine, the machine separates the fibers from the liquid and produces authentic, pure, and natural juice. The cold press juicers sold by Siqur Salute work slowly and are extremely quiet. The screw is made from Ultem, the same material used by NASA to build space shuttles, and in combination with a powerful 240-watt engine these juicers can not only press out juice from fruit and vegetables but make it possible to easily prepare vegetable milk from nuts and cereals, baby food from fruit, and sorbets, too. The reason why these appliances are called ‘cold press juicers’ is because the screw turns at a very low speed. As a result, they do not produce heat, do not oxidize food, and preserve all the precious nutrients.
Slow masticating juicers versus centrifugal juicer: here’s the difference
The main difference between a slow juicer and a centrifugal juicer is the speed of rotations in the engine and during the extraction process. While the centrifugal juicer separates the juice from the pulp using a very high number of rotations per minute (1500/25000 RpM) through centrifugal force, our professional slow juicer works at extremely low speed (60 rotations per minute), resulting in a higher quality juice. The cold press juicer extracts all the juice and separates it from the fiber in the fruit by pressing it out gently, without oxidizing or heating the final product. In a centrifugal juicer, a lot of heat is produced through friction between the food, the blades, and the structure of the appliance: this actually destroys enzymes and modifies food’s precious organic properties. Cold press juicers or masticating juicers, instead, keep all nutrients and enzymes in the juice, resulting in a drink that is rich in vitamins such as vitamin C; the whole process is also extremely quiet thanks to its low rotational speed.
