THE ADVANTAGES OF HOME GRINDING
Thanks to stone mills, you can always have fresh flour. Flour begins to oxidize soon after milling, and even the best flour on the market, cannot compete with freshly milled flour. In addition, this way you are assured of consuming flour without additives, pesticide residues and preservatives, and thus have more control over what you consume. The structure of these stone grain mills is typically made of wood, with a rustic-modern design that is intended to give the idea of something capable of creating a natural product from the very first glance.
OPERATION
This is a miniature version for home use of the old grain mill where the millstone consists of two natural stones. The principle of operation is very simple: you insert the product to be ground into a hopper located above the machinery, from here it slowly enters it ending up between two circular stones that rotating at low speed crush it without heating the grain. In the end, the whole grain flour obtained comes out through a hole at the front of the machinery.
MILLSTONE
The most important part of the home mill is the millstone, made of stone composed of a mixture of corundum and ceramics. The construction process of this stone consists of mixing, then pressing and then firing the two elements at high temperatures to obtain a natural material that can safely last 10 to 15 years depending on the frequency of use. It is considered a natural product because no chemicals are added to its interior. Corundum, according to the Friedrich Mohs scale used to evaluate the hardness of materials, is the hardest element after diamond; in fact, only the latter is able to scratch it.
